Jensen interceptor MK III

The Jenson Interceptor was launched at the 1966 London Motor Show. Designed by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan, the Interceptor broke away from Jensen’s usual method of glass fibre body construction in favour of an all-steel body shell. The chassis featured independent front suspension with a live rear axle and disc brakes all round. Power came from a Chrysler 7212 cc V8 engine producing just under 300 bhp which was enough to propel the Interceptor from 0-60 mph in just under 8 secs and onto a top speed in excess of 135mph. Inside the Interceptor featured a sumptuous Connolly leather interior with Wilton carpets. The standard specification of the car was comprehensive including electric windows, power steering and air conditioning. Exterior features included the distinctive large, curving wrap-around rear window which doubled up as the tailgate and GKN alloy wheels.

The Jensen Interceptor Mk III offered here at Autostorico is a 1972 example which was first registered to Newbury Motors Ltd of Halesowen.  Having covered an indicated 57,555 miles, this stunning example is finished in Graphite Black metallic with Cream leather interior. 187 JBC has been maintained to a high standard with recent works including a major service, belt replacement, ignition system check including new leads, a carburettor overhaul and a newly fitted, half louvred, bonnet. The car will be supplied to its new owner with a V5C registration document, current MOT certificate and various other related history.

This beautiful Interceptor offers the perfect opportunity to own an iconic 1970s Coupe, which will certainly appreciate further over time.
