TVR Chimaera 450

TVR was an independent British sports car manufacturer founded in 1946 and based in Blackpool. Specialising in hand built lightweight sports cars with powerful engines offering a range of convertibles and coupes. The cars are built around a tubular steel frames with fibreglass bodies and are powered by a range of V8 engines.

The TVR Chimaera was introduced in 1992 as the long distance tourer of the TVR range. Using the same backbone chassis as its sister car the Griffith. The Chimaera was marginally longer and had slightly softer suspension but still offered TVR’s trade mark performance. Offering a range of V8 engines which included the 4.5 litre V8 which produced 285 bhp and propelled the Chimaera from 0-60 mph in just 4.7 secs and onto a top speed of 160 mph.
