Triumph TR6 - Historic Rally Specification.

  • . Suitable for Hero Rallies.

The Triumph TR6 was introduced at the end of the 1960s, it combined Michelotti styled aggression with dependable mechanicals, creating a vehicle equally at home on Alpine passes as it was on British B roads.

The TR6 Historic Rally Car offered here at Autostorico is a 1970 registered example finished in Blue with White coachwork stripes, complemented by a Black interior trim.

Acquired by the current owner in 2018, the car was subsequently treated to a comprehensive, chassis up rebuild to historic rally specification. The programme encompassed both mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment, resulting in a highly usable competition car.

At its heart sits a P1 six-cylinder Triumph unit, upgraded with triple Weber carburettors and a fast road camshaft. Power is transmitted through a four-speed gearbox with overdrive, delivering 170bhp. With performance comfortably within Hero rally regulations and a top speed in the region of 120mph, it offers strong, flexible touring capability with the unmistakable soundtrack of a tuned straight-six.

Further works and specification highlights include:

  • Full roll cage installation
  • Comprehensive brake and suspension overhaul
  • Battery isolation system
  • Retrimmed interior with race harnesses
  • Halogen headlamp conversion with auxiliary spot lamps
  • Twin fuel pumps
  • Monit navigation system and timing clocks

Since completion the car has covered approximately 3,000 miles and was last campaigned competitively in 2022, achieving 1st in class a testament to both preparation and reliability.

A well prepared, highly eligible historic rally entrant that remains equally suited to fast road use and long-distance touring events.
