Porsche DP935 3.2 Carrera Cabriolet ‘Flatnose’ by DP Motorsport

We are pleased to offer for sale an extremely rare and iconic Porsche DP935

Revered as the ultimate development of the original 911, the 3.2 Carrera was the most flexible and usable of Butzi Porsche’s original design since the launch of the original 911 back in 1963. Launched in 1984, and reviving the ‘Carrera’ name for the first time since 1977, these were the definitive 1980’s sports cars. The all-alloy flat six engine received a final stretch to 3164cc. All 3.2 Carreras feature galvanised bodies which, together with Porsche’s legendary build quality, ensure that these classics are long lasting.

The Porsche 911 had dominated in most motorsport classes particularly with its Kremer Racing RSR which dominated at the 1975 Le Mans 24hr race. This created a huge customer demand for modified road going versions. Several Porsche tuning specialists entered the market including probably the most respected DP Motorsport. Offering tuning enhancements along with the famous Flatnose body conversions.

The Porsche DP935 3.2 Carrera Carrera Cabriolet ‘Flatnose’ by DP Motorsport offered here at Autostorico is a stunning 1988 example which is finished in the iconic combination of Guards Red with Black and Red leather. Supplied new by Porsche Cars North America to dealer Fred Opert Racing, who then immediately  sent 5 cars back to Germany to be converted. The original American number plate holder states it is 1 of 5 ( converted in 1988) and there are believed to be less than 10 convertibles worldwide. A plaque in the door shut confirms this to be a genuine DP conversion and is backed up with type written letters by Fred Opert racing. The works were carried out by Ekkehard, Zimmerman, GMBH and company KQ in June 1988
